My foot hurts when I get up in the morning, why?

A: Foot pain in the morning may be caused by a condition that causes heel pain called plantar fasciitis. This condition occurs when the plantar fascia tissue contracts when your feet are inactive for a long period of time, like when you sleep. As a result, the pain of plantar fasciitis is most commonly felt in the morning, while taking the first steps of the day.

Initial evaluation may require x-ray and/or diagnostic studies to differentiate between stress fractures, tumors, or inflammation.

If you are experiencing this pain please call our office at Wayne Foot & Ankle cemetery for an appointment.
